ABOUT ME

Hi 2015-2016 Ollin Scholars!  This is my 5th year teaching in Los Angeles.  I moved here from Colorado where I taught high school for 4 years.  I grew up in a small town in the mountains and then moved to Denver for college.  I graduated from The University of Denver in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and minors in Sociology and International Studies.  I’m excited to be co-teaching Composition and 11th grade English this year, where I’ll get to see you all honing your creativity and intelligence in writing.

My favorite place to be is outdoors.  I love going to the beach, hiking in the mountains, and biking around the city.  I am always excited for any adventure and enjoy physical challenges.  I have completed the LA Marathon the past four years with Students Run LA.  I’m looking forward to seeing another group of students cross the finish line this year!

I also love to travel and hope to eventually visit every country in the world!  I especially like meeting people from other cultures and trying strange foods.  Ask me about eating insects and guinea pigs.  When I have any spare time between running and travelling, I usually read books, write, or hang out with my three favorite dudes:  Mike, Oscar and Flash.  Click here for a little more about us and our life over the past year.
